Medicare Bulk Bill
For all Medicare-eligible patients, bulk bill the cost of the consult directly to Medicare, using Medicare Australia's online claiming.
Batch
Batch a group of Medicare bulk bill claims and send the batch from Helix to Services Australia together.

- Record a Visit
  Create a visit for a patient, add the patient to the patient queue, and initiate the billing process for all types of visits. Alternatively for previous consults, create a visit and bill the patient.
- MyMedicare
  Patients register for MyMedicare directly with Medicare Online. For patients who have registered with a provider at your health service, you can access MyMedicare bulk billing incentives for those patients.
- Patient Claims
  For private billing, transmit patient claims to Medicare so that patients can receive a rebate from Medicare as part of the billing process.

  For all Medicare-eligible patients, bulk bill the cost of the consult directly to Medicare, using Medicare Australia's online claiming.
  - Batch
    Batch a group of Medicare bulk bill claims and send the batch from Helix to Services Australia together.
    - Edit a Visit from the Batch
      Before a consult is batched, you can edit in the visit.
    - Batch a Group of Items
      Move an unbatched group of Medicare claims to a batched group.
    - Separate Items from a Batch
      To change a batched Medicare claim, move claims from a batched to an unbatched status.
    - Transmit a Batch
      Transmit a group of Medicare claims to Services Australia.
    - Retransmit a Batch
      Retransmit an already transmitted batch of Medicare claims to Services Australia.
    - Exceptions
      When Services Australia has reviewed the batch, it returns either an exception or a resolved response. If there is an exception with the batch, the batch will be displayed in the Exceptions panel.
    - Resolved
      When Services Australia approves a batch of bulk-billed consults, the batch is displayed with a Resolved status.
    - Reset a Batch - Unlock Batch
      Helix informs users of claim errors which would prevent the claim from being transmitted to Services Australia.
- Workers Compensation
  Process Workers' Compensation claims using Helix
- Invoices
  If required, adjust any visit details for a patient's private invoice after it has been issued.
- Receipts
  When payment has been received from an account holder or Services Australia, receipting can be performed for all invoices.
- Transaction History
  View the transaction history for individual patients or account holders, refunds and write-off summaries.
- Banking
  Use the Bank panel to view deposited items and balance your banking records.
- Financial Reports
  Helix provides these reports on the Financial Reports tab.

Batch

Batch a group of Medicare bulk bill claims and send the batch from Helix to Services Australia together.

About this task

View the status of Medicare claims from Claiming, Banking, and Payments > Batch tab.

Procedure

To view the batch option:

Select Claiming, Banking, and Payments > Batch from the menu.

You can batch a group of Medicare claims for each practitioner at the end of the day and send the batch to Services Australia.

Note:
A list of unbatched consults for the current day is displayed by default. The number of Medicare and DVA consults for the day are displayed in brackets.
In the Filter section, change the following actions:
- From the Status list, select the required status such as Unbatched, Batched, Transmitted and so on.
- Centre field displays the name of the Centre to which you are currently logged in.
- To view consults or visits for a particular provider, from the HCP list, select that provider.
- To view a particular visit or consult, in the Search by visitid field, enter the visit ID and search.

Results

A list of patient claims are displayed based on the selection.
