Maintain the default fee schedule for patient services that are not bulk billed or DVA-related, import updated MBS and DVA fee schedules into your instance of Helix, and create customised fee schedules.

- Record a Visit
  Create a visit for a patient, add the patient to the patient queue, and initiate the billing process for all types of visits. Alternatively for previous consults, create a visit and bill the patient.
- Add Billing Items for a Consult
  Create or modify the list of items to be billed for the current consult.
- Patient Claims
  For private billing, transmit patient claims to Medicare so that patients can receive a rebate from Medicare as part of the billing process.
- Medicare Bulk Bill
  For eligible patients, bulk bill the cost of the consult directly to Medicare, using Medicare Australia's online claiming.
- Workers Compensation
  Process Workers' Compensation claims using Helix
- Receipts
  When payment has been received from an account holder or Services Australia, receipting can be performed for all invoices.
- Transaction History
  View the transaction history for individual patients or account holders, and refund and write-off summaries.
- Banking
  Use the Bank panel to view deposited items and balance your banking records.
- Financial Reports
  Helix provides these reports on the Financial Reports tab.
- Configure Centre Billing
  Add your centre's account details, default billing type, default billing items for different scenarios and your Modified Monach Category for Medicarebilling incentive items.
- Fee Schedules
  Maintain the default fee schedule for patient services that are not bulk billed or DVA-related, import updated MBS and DVA fee schedules into your instance of Helix, and create customised fee schedules.
  - Display Fee Schedules
    The fee schedules available at your health service are listed in the Fee Schedules window.
  - Customise Fee Schedules (Override Schedules)
    Create custom fee schedules (or Override Schedules), if you want to charge different fees per-state, per-practice, or even per-user.
  - Add Fees Manually
    Add new fees manually and create multiple fee rates for all the schedules.
  - Edit Fees
    Update the fee rates for existing fee schedules in Fee Schedules panel.
  - Medicare Benefits Schedule Import
    Helix is initially supplied with the Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) already loaded. Import updated versions as they become available.

Settings > Fee Schedules, display the fee schedules used by your health service, and search for fee schedules, including by code and description.
Fee Schedules Window

In the Fee Schedules window:

A list of standard codes is displayed.
Switch between default schedule lists in the options at left side.
In the Search field, enter a code or description to search for a fee:
- All matching results are displayed in the table.
- To return to the full view, delete the Search field.
To include inactive codes, set Show Inactive. Inactive codes are displayed at the bottom of the table.
