Using AI Scribe

Use AI Scribe to record a practitioner's clinical notes.

Before you begin

To access the AI Scribe application, you must create a user account and sign in at least once.

Use AI Scribe to record clinical notes.

Procedure

Generate clinical notes using AI Scribe:
  1. Open the patient's record for whom you want to start the consultation.
  2. Select Consult icon.
    The Consult panel is opened on the right-hand side of the screen.

    Note:
    AI Scribe is available only during an active consult for a single patient.
  3. Select AI Scribe.
    The Clinical Virtual Assistant is displayed.


    Once loaded, the AI Scribe window is displayed on the right-hand side of the screen.


    Tip:
    Allow microphone permissions in your web browser when prompted.
  4. Select a microphone.
  5. Select Start Recording.
    AI Scribes starts transcribing the consultation in the AI Scribe screen.


    Tip:
    While AI Scribe is in progress, you can navigate to other areas of Helix without interrupting the AI Scribe transcription. When you open another window, AI Scribe is minimised and displayed as a tab on the right-hand side of the screen with an AI Scribe is in progress indicator displaying at the top of the screen to show that AI Scribe continues uninterrupted in the background. Select the AI Scribe tab to return to the AI Scribe screen.


  6. (Optional) Click Stop Recording to pause the recording at any time, for example, during physical examinations or sensitive non-consult discussions and resume when ready.
  7. While in pause mode, you can specify:
    • Resume - resume the recording, the new notes are appended to the original consult notes.
    • Copy - copy the notes to a clipboard
    • Clear - clear the recorded transcript
    • Generate - open the template menu

  8. Select the close icon (X) to close the AI Scribe panel and end the AI Scribe transcription.
