Use Helix to record your patients' medical details and consultations.
- Health Summary
  Information entered by a practitioner during a consult is added to a patient's Health Summary.
- Consultations
  Record details of a clinical consultation in the Consult panel of the patient's record.
- Patient Timeline
  A summary of the patient's clinical history is displayed in the Patient Timeline.
- Medications
  Helix uses the MDref medications database provided by AusDI.
- Immunisations
  Before you administer an immunisation to a patient, check the immunisations that have already been administered on the AIR and the immunisations due.
- Allergies
  A patient's allergies can be added to their record.
- Chronic Disease Management
  Use the Chronic Disease Management (CDM) feature to specify care plans, cycle of care for asthma or diabetes, and GP Mental Health Treatment Plans.
- History & Examinations
  Record details of a patient's clinical history in the History section. Record details of today's examination of a patient in the Examination section.
- Measurements and Assessments
  Record metabolic, pathology and ECG measurements and other assessments in the patient's record as required.
- Recalls
  A Recall is a type of flag recorded against a patient's record that informs practitioners and practice staff of when the patient is due to return to the practice.
- Nursing Requests
  During a consult, add a request for a nurse to complete a nursing action.
- Obstetrics
  Record obstetrics information on the Obstetrics panel.
- Investigations
  Investigations can be requested by a practitioner from within a patient's clinical record.
  - Pathology Requests
    Create pathology requests from each patient's record.
    - Create a Pathology Request
      Practitioners can initiate a pathology test request for a patient during their consultation.
    - Edit and Delete Pathology Favourites
      After you have added useful tests to the pathology request Favourites list, you can edit them if required.
    - Print or Delete Pathology Requests
      From the Consult actions section you can print new pathology requests and delete pathology requests.
    - View Pathology Requests in the Timeline
      Pathology requests are listed in the Patient Timeline.
  - Create Imaging Requests
    Create a radiology imaging request from the patient's record.
  - Pathology Results
    Helix can automatically receive pathology and radiology results from ACL and Sonic Healthcare.
- Tasks
  The tasks module allows users to send messages (tasks) to other users throughout the medical centre.
- My Health Record
  Securely upload a patient's health data and specific events, including acute care episodes, urgent treatments, or interventions outside the usual care provider to their My Health Record.Securely upload a patient's health data to their My Health Record.

About this task

After you have saved and printed a pathology request, and exited the patient's record, the request is displayed in the Patient Timeline. Pathology requests display the

Pathology icon.

Procedure

To view patient's pathology records:

In the Patient Timeline, select Pathology.
To view details of the pathology request, click the required entry.

Note:
The Request date displayed on pathology items migrated to Helix from MedicalDirector Clinical is taken from the Reported Date in MedicalDirector Clinical.

Results

The details of the selected pathology request are displayed.
