Delete an Allergy

If a patient's allergies are recorded incorrectly or are no longer relevant, you can delete the allergy record.

About this task

Delete a patient's allergies in the record allergy_iconAllergies / Adverse Reactions section.

Procedure

To delete a patient's allergy:
  1. In the patient's record, locate and click Add adverse reactions iconCheck For Allergies / Adverse Reactions at the top of the window.
  2. In the record allergy_iconAllergies / Adverse Reactions section, locate the allergy you want to delete and click Delete iconDelete.

  3. In the Remove allergy confirmation panel, click Remove.

Results

The allergy is deleted from the record allergy_iconAllergies / Adverse Reactions record.
The deleted allergy is displayed with a strike through, including Removed status in the Consult iconConsult > Consult Actions > Other Actions section.

Tip:
If any patient's allergy or adverse reaction is deleted during their consultation, it is displayed in the existing consultation. Otherwise, a new consultation is created automatically to display the deleted allergy.
