Use Helix to record your patients' medical details and consultations.
- Health Summary
  Information entered by a practitioner during a consult is added to a patient's Health Summary.
- Consultations
  Record details of a clinical consultation in the Consult panel of the patient's record.
- Patient Timeline
  A summary of the patient's clinical history is displayed in the Patient Timeline.
- Medications
  Helix uses the MDref medications database provided by AusDI.
- Immunisations
  Before you administer an immunisation to a patient, check the immunisations that have already been administered on the AIR and the immunisations due.
- Allergies
  A patient's drug allergies can be added to their record.
- Chronic Disease Management
  Use the Chronic Disease Management (CDM) feature to specify care plans, cycle of care for asthma or diabetes, and GP Mental Health Treatment Plans.

  Record details of a patient's clinical history in the History section. Record details of today's examination of a patient in the Examination section.

  Investigations can be requested by a practitioner from within a patient's clinical record.

  The tasks module allows users to send messages (tasks) to other users throughout the medical centre.

  Securely upload a patient's health data to their My Health Record.

Record Measurements

Record metabolic, pathology and ECG measurements in the Consult window.

Procedure

To record measurements:

From the Patient Search or Patient Queue, select the Consult panel.
In the Consult panel, click Measurements.

Tip: If you can't see this option in the Consult toolbar, click More.
To expand a pane and display a measurement, click Expand.

Tip: In some sections, to display a chart of that data, click Charts.
To record new measurements in a pane, click Add Data and enter measurements in the editable fields.

Tip: If the value is outside the normal range, a message is displayed, and the box is highlighted.
To access a device and capture its data, click Devices.

Results

As data is entered and a new field selected, the data is added to a row in the history.

When Add data icon Add Data is selected in the INR section (within Pathology), the New Dose from the previous entry becomes the Current Dose for this entry.

If a patient's blood pressure and weight measurements are entered into the Measurements panel, these values are displayed in the Obstetrics panel. Likewise, if weight or blood pressure is entered in the Obstetrics panel, they are displayed in the Measurements panel.

In the Renal section, the GFR value is calculated and added only if the weight value (Body Measurements) and the creatinine value (Renal) are entered. If no weight has been recorded for this patient, then a message Weight Required is displayed in the GFR field.

What to do next

When the consult is ended, any measurements recorded are added to the consult entry in the patient's Timeline, flagged with the

Measurements icon.

To display the related measurements data, click

Measurements.

Tip: You can delete data on the same day in which it was recorded. In the required section, click

Delete data icon

Delete Data.
