Use Helix to record your patients' medical details and consultations.
- Health Summary
  Information entered by a practitioner during a consult is added to a patient's Health Summary.
- Consultations
  Record details of a clinical consultation in the Consult panel of the patient's record.
- Patient Timeline
  A summary of the patient's clinical history is displayed in the Patient Timeline.
- Medications
  Helix uses the MDref medications database provided by AusDI.
- Immunisations
  Before you administer an immunisation to a patient, check the immunisations that have already been administered on the AIR and the immunisations due.
- Allergies
  A patient's allergies can be added to their record.
- Chronic Disease Management
  Use the Chronic Disease Management (CDM) feature to specify care plans, cycle of care for asthma or diabetes, and GP Mental Health Treatment Plans.
- History & Examinations
  Record details of a patient's clinical history in the History section. Record details of today's examination of a patient in the Examination section.
- Measurements and Assessments
  Record metabolic, pathology and ECG measurements and other assessments in the patient's record as required.
- Recalls
  A Recall is a type of flag recorded against a patient's record that informs practitioners and practice staff of when the patient is due to return to the practice.
- Nursing Requests
  During a consult, add a request for a nurse to complete a nursing action.
- Obstetrics
  Record obstetrics information on the Obstetrics panel.
- Investigations
  Investigations can be requested by a practitioner from within a patient's clinical record.
- Tasks
  The tasks module allows users to send messages (tasks) to other users throughout the medical centre.
- My Health Record
  Securely upload a patient's health data and specific events, including acute care episodes, urgent treatments, or interventions outside the usual care provider to their My Health Record.

    If a patient's My Health Record is found, you can access all health records.

Procedure

To create and upload an Event Summary:

Open the patient's clinical record.
In the Health Summary, click My Health Record.
In the My Health Record panel, to create a new Event Summary, click Create and select Event Summary from the Select Summary list.

Tip:
The Shared Health Summary is selected by default.
Information from the patient's clinical record is listed. Select the information you want to include or deselect the information you want to exclude.

Note:
Non‑standard Unicode symbols (such as ↑, ↓, ✓, ≤, ≥) and emojis are not supported. If these characters are included in the Clinical synopsis, they may appear as a question mark (?) in the Event Summary. Before creating or uploading an Event Summary, ensure all special Unicode characters and emojis are removed and replaced with standard text.
To review the Event Summary before sending or uploading it, click Preview.
In the Event Summary preview panel or in the My Health Record panel, click Upload.

Results

The new Event Summary is added to the list on the View panel and is displayed in the Actions section with a status: Upload Successful, Failed or Delivered.

When the consult is complete, the Event Summary moves from the Actions section to the Patient Timeline.

What to do next

To open a read-only copy of the Event Summary from either Actions or Patient Timeline icon Patient Timeline, click Event Summary.
