Use Helix to record your patients' medical details and consultations.
Immunisations
Before you administer an immunisation to a patient, check the immunisations that have already been administered on the AIR and the immunisations due.
Australian Immunisation Register
Immunisations recorded in Helix are automatically uploaded to the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR).
Delete Practice Immunisation Records
You can delete immunisations recorded in error that were administered by your practice and uploaded to the AIR, but you must complete these additional steps.

- Health Summary
  Information entered by a practitioner during a consult is added to a patient's Health Summary.
- Consultations
  Record details of a clinical consultation in the Consult panel of the patient's record.
- Patient Timeline
  A summary of the patient's clinical history is displayed in the Patient Timeline.
- Medications
  Helix uses the MDref medications database provided by AusDI.
- Immunisations
  Before you administer an immunisation to a patient, check the immunisations that have already been administered on the AIR and the immunisations due.
  - Record a Scheduled Immunisation
    Record an immunisation that was scheduled for a patient in their patient record.
  - Record an Ad-hoc Immunisation
    After an unscheduled vaccine has been administered, it must be recorded in Helix.
  - Select an Alternative Vaccine
    Select one of a list of alternative vaccines that are available for an immunisation.

    Specify immunisation schedules in Helix
  - Australian Immunisation Register
    Immunisations recorded in Helix are automatically uploaded to the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR).
    - Transmission to AIR
      After a patient's immunisation record has been transmitted to AIR, you can view the results of each immunisation record and its associated messages.
    - Immunisations with Errors
      Check for immunisations that contained an error and so were not uploaded to the AIR.
    - AIR Patient Treatment Factors
      Set the applicable AIR patient treatment factors such as special risk group and indigenous status for a patient.
    - Edit Practice Immunisation Records
      If the AIR instructs you to, edit the record of an immunisation administered to a patient at your practice that was not successfully transmitted.
    - Delete Practice Immunisation Records
      You can delete immunisations recorded in error that were administered by your practice and uploaded to the AIR, but you must complete these additional steps.
    - Edit an AIR Immunisation
      If instructed to by the AIR, you can edit an immunisation record in the integrated AIR portal.
    - Download AIR History Statement
      You can download a patient's complete immunisation history from the AIR.
    - Add Planned Catch up date
      If a child or other patient is behind in their vaccinations, you can request a catch up schedule from the AIR.
    - Add Exemption
      You can add permanent or temporary medical contraindications and record the natural immunities for a patient.
- Allergies
  A patient's allergies can be added to their record.
- Chronic Disease Management
  Use the Chronic Disease Management (CDM) feature to specify care plans, cycle of care for asthma or diabetes, and GP Mental Health Treatment Plans.
- History & Examinations
  Record details of a patient's clinical history in the History section. Record details of today's examination of a patient in the Examination section.
- Measurements and Assessments
  Record metabolic, pathology and ECG measurements and other assessments in the patient's record as required.
- Recalls
  A Recall is a type of flag recorded against a patient's record that informs practitioners and practice staff of when the patient is due to return to the practice.
- Nursing Requests
  During a consult, add a request for a nurse to complete a nursing action.
- Obstetrics
  Record obstetrics information on the Obstetrics panel.
- Investigations
  Investigations can be requested by a practitioner from within a patient's clinical record.
- Tasks
  The tasks module allows users to send messages (tasks) to other users throughout the medical centre.
- My Health Record
  Securely upload a patient's health data and specific events, including acute care episodes, urgent treatments, or interventions outside the usual care provider to their My Health Record.

Delete Practice Immunisation Records

You can delete immunisations recorded in error that were administered by your practice and uploaded to the AIR, but you must complete these additional steps.

Note:

Any immunisation that you delete from Helix must also be deleted from the AIR, if it has already been uploaded.

Procedure

To delete an immunisation record:

Select Immunisation > Practice Immunisations tab.
By default, the practice immunisations are listed in the following order:
- Immunisations that are Pending administration are displayed first.
- Listed immunisations are sorted by the Administered date in descending order (newest to oldest).
- Listed immunisations are sorted alphabetically.
Select the immunisation that you want to remove and click Delete.
To confirm, click Delete.
Update the patient's immunisation record on the AIR site, which might involve contacting Services Australia. For more information, see Services Australia Portal.

Results

After the immunisation has been deleted from the AIR site, the AIR Portal in Helix should be updated.
