User Management
Everyone who needs to access Helix should be added as a user and assigned to a role. Permissions to access various parts of Helix are assigned to roles. The permissions assigned determine what each user can access in Helix.

- User Management
  Everyone who needs to access Helix should be added as a user and assigned to a role. Permissions to access various parts of Helix are assigned to roles. The permissions assigned determine what each user can access in Helix.
  - Roles
    Create custom roles for your organisation.
  - Permissions
    The areas of Helix you can access are determined by the permissions assigned to your role.
  - Users
    First, add a user to Helix. A user's user groups, permissions and licence level define the features and functions to which a user or members of a group have access.
  - Helix Permissions
    Helix has a predefined set of permissions that you can apply to individual users or all members in a group.
- Centre Settings
  Manage your centre's settings and associated details such as adding a new centre, recording your organisation ID to integrate with MyMedicare, updating centre profile, billing information, work areas and other relevant details.
- Immunisation Schedule Management
  Create a new immunisation schedule, edit the schedule and activate it.
- Template Management
  All templates used in the Letter Writer are managed from the Template Management system.
- Preferences
  Enable ePrescribing, RTPM and set your display preferences.
- Abbreviations
  Abbreviations are essentially frequently used text inserted into a patient's consult using keystrokes.
- Certificates
  PKI certificates are required by many businesses for maintaining access to digital health tools including electronic prescribing and My Health Record.
- Audits
  Use the Audit log to check user access, reauthentication, and any changes made to your patient's personal records.
- Migration to Helix
  Helix uses a FHIR-based tool to migrate your MedicalDirector Clinical data using an iterative approach.

About this task

Assign permissions to a role:

Procedure

Select user > Settings.
From the Settings screen, select Roles & Permissions.

The Roles & Permissions screen is displayed.
Select the required role.
Select required category.
In the Permissions screen, select the required permissions by selecting check boxes.
Select other categories and permissions as required.
Select Save All to save your changes.
